Formed in 2020 in Athens, Greece, and comprised of a congregation of penitents led by mysterious songstress Señora Dolorosa, JEHOVAH ON DEATH aim to inspire a new wave of “satanic panic” through their occult rock, which—after a handful of promising EPs—reaches a surprising maturity on the debut full-length "Lágrimas de Oro".
"The band name alludes to Yahweh/Yaldabaoth/the Demiurge promising swift retribution in vengeance against his enemies, as in Deuteronomy 41:32," they explain; "we want to portray the obscenity of worshiping in clear light, in all its gory extreme. Whilst some may consider this blasphemous, the sources are modified little to none... So, revel in its twistedness."

Influenced by Spanish Catholicism, poetry and music, as well as medieval beliefs and superstitions, JEHOVAH ON DEATH invites penance through songs of love and death, richly embroidered with dark melodies and smoldering guitar solos.
Comparisons with GHOST or female-fronted acts like THE DEVIL'S BLOOD, BLOOD CEREMONY, JESS AND THE ANCIENT ONES, SABBATH ASSEMBLY, JEX THOTH, and other legitimate offspring of the seminal COVEN are inevitable, but the Greek band's roots actually go even further back in time, to the occult-tinged proto-metal of BLUE ÖYSTER CULT, from whom JEHOVAH ON DEATH inherited the same masterful ability to create catchy yet sinister and haunting melodies, nestled in compelling songs that make of "Lágrimas de Oro" a timeless work.
Special mention to Señora Dolorosa's vocal performance, which is sumptuous, powerful and seductive in equal measure, capable of giving the compositions a religious edge that further enhances their occult and satanic connotations.
