Former Lives is a metal influenced hardcore band from Rochester, New York for fans of Coalesce, Breather Resist, Code Orange Kids and Kiss it Goodbye. Formed in late 2012, Former Lives combines pummeling open string driven riffs, with odd time signatures, and the unmistakable voice of Andrew Wollschleger. Finding the perfect middle ground between breakdown centric hardcore and chaotic math metal in just a short time, the band self released a full length titled “The Predators, The Prey” as Envoyer in 2011. Changing their name, but not their punishing sound, Former Lives has crafted three new tracks filled with chest bursting heaviness and intermittent beautifully sparse instrumental segues. Their new EP “Chapter 1: Harsh Realities” is a wake up call for the apathetic, and a rallying cry for the disheartened.
