“Decade” marks ten years since Ergot’s debut — and there could hardly
be a more fitting title.
Where the first album thrived on raw spontaneity and flashes of
inspiration, this new chapter reveals an Ergot shaped by a decade of
growth: melodic sensitivity, nuanced and deliberate songwriting,
instinctive only in moments but always refined and mature.
Their intricate yet compelling compositions stand in stark contrast to
prevailing trends, carving out a uniquely personal identity far
removed from today’s easily labeled Black Metal.
The artwork, created by Vhan Artwork & Printing in collaboration with
the band, perfectly mirrors the album’s concept: a journey of inner
exploration, isolation embraced in the womb of darkness, and the
ultimate realization of the self.
Each track brims with variety and unpredictability, ensuring the
listening experience is never routine but always immersive. Echoes of
epic, atmospheric Black Metal emerge alongside the introspective drama
of more intimate artists and the sheer power of the genre’s most
visceral expressions.
“Decade” is Black Metal at its most multifaceted and uncompromising.
