Palace of Worms - The Ladder - LP + DOWNLOAD CARD

The first full-length since 2010's Lifting The Veil, The Ladder is the highly anticipated new chapter in the musical journey of Oakland's Palace of Worms . The album will be released on vinyl by Broken Limbs on April 8, 2016. Formed as a one-man project in 2007 by multi-instrumentalist Balan, The Ladder is the band's most diverse record to date, with distinctive black metal elements shining through.

In Balan's own words, "The Ladder is the culmination of nearly three years of work creating a diverse record that properly reflects its creator's life during the period. Drawing influence from not only black metal, but from death, doom, doth and dark ambient.

Formed in early 2007 as a vehicle for Balan to exorcise and make manifest his various mental and spiritual disorders. The music was initially inspired by the lo-fi and obscure visions of artists such as Ildjarn, Darkthrone and Vlad Tepes but has since evolved and twisted itself into shapes that possess much more depth, dimension, and contrast in their color and texture.
