Initially inspired by the classic sounds of Maiden, Priest, Sabbath, etc., the four-piece gradually gravitated toward the burgeoning thrash style being fostered by future legends such as Metallica. The initial result of such efforts was \"Dreams of Hell,\" intended for the Arctic Records Presents compilation in 1986, though ultimately unreleased at that time.\r\n\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\r\nHaving secured a regional following through opening slots for the likes of D.R.I., Flotsam and Jetsam, Nuclear Assault, Overkill, etc., the band eventually landed at Network Sound Studios in Brooklyn, NY to record their seven-song debut, released on Brokin' Records in 1988. Unfortunately, Andersen left the band shortly after the album was complete. ARAGON attempted to soldier on as a trio, recording two final songs—one with Pope exploring vocal duties—before fading into obscurity. Their lone LP would go on to become an expensive collectible for the most diehard of cult metal fanatics.\r\n\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\r\nOver 30 years later, Divebomb Records is prepared to bring ARAGON back to the surface—on CD for the very first time, with \"Dreams of Hell\" and the previously unreleased \"Schizophrenic\" as bonus tracks. The pair eventually joined forces with drummer Bill Waters and frontman Rick Danks. Wasting no time, the quartet was already heading into Steve Lawson Productions by 1988 to track a full-length album with now legendary producer Terry Date—who at that point had already worked with the likes of Metal Church, Sanctuary, Fifth Angel, etc.\r\n\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\r\nThe resulting 10-song, self-titled album was released later that year through Seattle-based label Ever Rat Records, cranking out just under 30 minutes of crisp and compact thrash-leaning heavy metal with unique cover art that was a deliberate effort to distance the group from generic imagery such as skulls or fire. LETHAL DOSE was able to pursue some degree of touring along the West Coast in support of the material; in addition to shows with notable locals like The Accüsed, Bitter End, and Coven; and opening for national acts such as Nazareth and Quiet Riot.\r\n\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\r\nA rare five-song demo, Threshold of Pain, was then recorded at the home studio of Fifth Angel guitarist James Byrd, released in 1989. Sadly, LETHAL DOSE just couldn't catch a break amidst the infamously changing landscape of the Northwest music scene, struggling through a low local profile with a new vocalist until late-1992, when things finally fell apart.\r\n\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\r\nOver three decades later, Divebomb Records is psyched to partner with LETHAL DOSE for the first-ever official CD reissue of Lethal Dose, with the Threshold of Pain recordings (sans one track, omitted per band request) tacked on as a bonus. The group debuted with a five-song demo in 1988, rumored to have been issued in as little as 30 copies, before—having secured Joacim Persson (guitar) and Gustaf Ljungström (bass)—recording the four-song Hang-Over demo at Eagle One Studios in 1989. One track from Hang-Over, \"Etanolic Intoxication,\" appeared on a four-way split 7\" with Appendix, Nirvana 2002, and Authorize the following year; after which—with new bassist Matte Hedenborg in tow—the quartet returned to Eagle One to track a seven-song EP, which they self-released on 12\" vinyl in 1991.\r\n\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\r\nFALLEN ANGEL eventually secured a deal with Germany's Massacre Records for the release of their lone full-length, Faith Fails, in 1992. The 10-song album marked a significant step up in quality for presenting the band's tight and aggressive thrash metal, with subtle technical flare and fluidly melodic underpinnings. Having performed live alongside Swedish legends such as Entombed and Candlemass, as well as cult acts like Tribulation and Kazjurol, amongst numerous others, FALLEN ANGEL unfortunately found that just as they were hitting their stride, thrash metal was falling \"out of style,\" with death metal and grunge beginning to strangle the scene. Members went their separate ways, and Faith Fails would quietly become an underrated gem heralded by diehard thrash fanatics.\r\n\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\r\nAt long last, 30 years later, Divebomb Records is thrilled to finally shed new light on FALLEN ANGEL with an official CD reissue of Faith Fails, plus 1989's Hang-Over demo as a bonus.
