  • Description

Mega forces Caïna and Cara Neir come together for a truly original split release. Available May, 12th through Broken Limbs, this 7" is a peek into some of the most creative minds in modern music. UK-based Caïna's sprawling approach to black and post-metal is an unexpected but excellent complement to Dallas, Texas' own Cara Neir and its unique style of blackened crust.
This album is significant for several reasons. This will be Caïna's final release, alongside great friends Cara Neir, who have a busy 2017 planned.
Formed in 2004 as a solo project of ACB. After many successful albums on Profound Lore Records, the project was put on hiatus between 2011 and early 2013. Following the completion of Setter of Unseen Snares, Caïna became a solo project no more, with the addition of Laurence Taylor as co-vocalist. “Rhosneigr” was written as a precursor to the divisive and daring Christ Clad in White Phosphorus released by Apocalyptic Witchcraft in 2016, and sees the light of day now in 2017 through Broken Limbs alongside long-term friends Cara Neir.
" Mixing black metal, industrial menace, and post-rock grandeur, Andrew Curtis-Brignell [Caïna] lampoons the systems we love and lean on. " - Pitchfork
Cara Neir is a two-man project formed in 2008, based in Arlington, TX. Unrestrained by genre barriers, the band has incorporated a revolving door of stylistic shifts in black metal, punk, screamo, grind, and hints of post-rock throughout their discography. Structurally, the band is musically proprietary by multi-instrumentalist Garry Brents and complemented with the introspective and galvanizing lyrics of Chris Francis. Regression, anger, wistfulness, and existentialism often take hold of the band's themes and expression.
